The Lents EcoDistrict evolved out of a multiscalar approach to design and concept. The complex processes of ecology and habitat, water, energy, food, and building materials are integrated in the built and landscape form. District-scale relationships of zoning, ecological function, and stormwater retention and distribution were explored in masterplan while links between the built structures, humans, animals, water, and plants were explored at the human scale.
